A DeFuniak Springs, Florida woman is devastated after losing irreplaceable family religious documents that were shipped to a relative in Houston, Texas.  Kellye Gray LeBoff is reaching out on social media with the hope someone may have found the beautiful documents shown in this article.

This is Kellye’s story in her own words

“My Mom died from early onset dementia four years ago. I am still going thru her things, as she had stuff EVERYWHERE…

Important documents were found in an envelope marked ‘Oil Change’…it’s crazy. So, I have to go thru every file and every book…

While emptying out her 2002 TAX file folder I found these beautiful religious certificates. There is a large one Remembrance of First Holy Communion along with two smaller more colorful certificates, Remembrance of my Confirmation and two more, Holy Baptism.

These are beautiful and they are from my great-great-grandmother and my great grandmother and my grandfather and they date back from 1898 to 1931. It’s a part of my family heritage I knew nothing about.

Having no children, I called my aunt, who is our family historian, and arranged to send all of these to her in the Jersey Village area of Houston for her to restore and frame and pass down to the grandkids and keep the family history ALIVE. So I went to the UPS place, rolled up the certificates, put them in an art tube and sent them off.

The delivery date was Thursday, September 29. On Sunday, October 3rd, my aunt called. They never arrived. I tracked the package and got an alert saying the tube was damaged and empty and that UPS would contact me.

I went to the UPS store, talked to the manager and he is filling a claim. I was told it would  take two weeks but I am pretty much inconsolable right now.

I also called UPS and they are doing a LOST/FOUND search. These were priceless and irreplaceable to me and I’m devastated. UPS threw the tube away so there is no way to corroborate the Damage claim. Why was the tube empty?

I have many questions. Here are the pictures of the certificates and the last name on all of them is Vaughn.”
