'Thinks He's Still a Kitten': Cat Curling Up on Napping Dog Charms Internet

A cat found a comfortable spot to lounge on none other than a sleeping dog, delighting the internet in the process.

The now-viral Reddit post, titled, "[OC] Cat thinks he's still a kitten," was shared to the subreddit "Aww" with over 18,000 upvotes since it was shared on March 2.

The 15-second clip, posted by u/mnrjkhgh, featured a cat getting comfortable and sitting on top of a dog's back as the canine sat on the ground. The Redditor walked around the animals, getting a better look on the other side to show their faces.

The cat sat unbothered and perched atop the dog on the ground with his eyes open slightly blinking. The dog had its eyes closed, seemingly undisturbed despite the cat on top of it.

The Redditor got closer to the animals' faces, yet the dog didn't get up or open its eyes as it slept.

According to Statista, as of 2022, 69 million homes in the country had at least one dog, putting them at the top of the list as the most owned animal. Cats came in second place with about 45.3 million homes owning a cat.

Viewers on Reddit couldn't seem to get enough of the cat perched atop the sleeping dog on the ground.

Some people had jokes about the situation highlighted between the two animals. "Cat-dog double-decker loaf," a Redditor joked.

Words of appreciation came pouring in over the content. "I would take a bullet for either of them," a viewer said.

Another user called the situation "sweetness," asking, "Why am I such a sucker for animals living harmoniously alongside each other?"

A Redditor mentioned the content is "If I fits, I sits energy if I've ever seen it."

While others thought both animals were getting something out of it. "Dog provides bedding for cat, and cat provides the effect of a weighted blanket for dog," a viewer suggested.

Some imagined what the dog could be thinking. "And the doggo knows he's been chosen," a Redditor wrote. "He knows he can't move until the cat moves. He can never move."

One person disagreed with the original poster (OP) about the cat thinking he's still a kitten, saying, "He just thinks the dog is a comfortable place to lay, and he is more important than the dog," the Redditor said. "So, it is his cat's decreed place to be able to lay on the dog."

While a viewer pointed out that the "dog didn't show signs of disapproval whatsoever."
