44 Cats Who Moved Into Random Houses And Now Basically Own The Place

By Nikita D

Imagine that you have come back home from vacation and you see a cat staring at you from the kitchen! Oh, also, all your food is gone. This is just one of the stories from a Facebook page called “My House, Not My Cat.” Apparently, cats just love visiting random people’s homes and making themselves very, very comfortable. Some people have even had one particular cat visiting them so often that they eventually ended up adopting them.

Whatever the story, the cats in this article sure do love invading other people’s homes. In fact, in some cases it’s kind of difficult to tell who owns the house in the first place! We are not sure how we would react if we came home to find a strange cat sleeping on our sofa. But maybe, just maybe, it wouldn’t remain a stranger for long.

Black Kitty

A lot of people want pets as their Christmas gifts from Santa. This woman became lucky when this mystical black cat showed up on the porch on Christmas. Of course, she kept it and couldn’t be happier. What happened next is even cuter.

On the next day, this kitty gave birth to seven little beans and continued to stay there. How lucky is she! She got not just one, but eight new pets on Christmas day. Definitely, the best Christmas gift ever.

Crumpet Cat

This homeowner wakes up every morning and sees this orange floofy cat staring at them demanding breakfast. Without fail, this crumpet cat turns up each day, has her breakfast, and leaves. Well, she is almost a kitty pet, isn’t she?

Just look at the cat’s soul-piercing stare, pleading for what she needs.  She demands her grand tribute every day, and seeing her face, who would not give her one. This house owner is lucky to have such a pretty breakfast companion.

A Lost Kitty

This woman was about to go out and saw a cute flea-covered kitty cat on her porch. The cat ran in as soon as the woman opened the door. She fed the cat food and fell in love with this furball.

She discovered that this cat had a chip and her family was really happy to finally find her. The cat had been missing for two years! Of course, the lady who found her was incredibly sad. A happy ending is the best, though.

A Pet Cat

This man saw that a cat entered his house and had found a spot on his bed. The kitty looked so cute that he let him sleep there. But, stage by stage, the cat exerted his dominance and love for the man.

Secondly, the cat decided to climb on the man and get comfortable there, and after a while, he just slept on the man’s chest! Needless to say, the cat totally fell in love with him and vice versa—what a lucky fella.

Ted The Cat

It has been a long day, and you are grateful to be home. You get a glass of cold water and settle on the couch. A moment later, you see a cat sitting on the table and sipping your water! And this is not even your cat.

After recovering from the scare, you discover this is your neighbor’s cat, Ted. Well, it looks like Ted has totally made himself at home here. For some reason, he prefers your house and has decided that he can drink from your glass.

Neighbour’s Cat Part II

In another case of the neighbor’s cat turning up without any notice is when Ted turned up in the bathroom. The woman went to her bathroom to have a nice long bath after a hard day’s work, only to see Ted sitting on the ledge.

He looks so much at home that it almost seems like he considers this his second house. Who would even want to move that beautiful furry ball? The neighbor should just accept Ted as her cat too. We certainly would.

A Cat Fight

We have all seen videos of cats fighting and pawing at each other. But, in this photo, none of the cats belongs to the house owner! Both the cats are having a staring contest: one from inside the house and the other from outside.

How hilarious does this look? We would not know what to do in this situation. Opening the door would certainly invite the other cat inside too. Or just prompt them both to get in a catfight! Best of luck to the house owner.

Five Cats Saga

This woman is a cat lover and already has three cats in her house. One day, she went to her kitchen to feed her three cats, only to find five cats sitting there! All of them waiting for food. No one knows whose cats are the other two.

Can you imagine if something like that happened to you? We would certainly be shocked and a little scared too. Needless, we would end up feeding the other cats, too, as we are sure she did. Well, we guess she has five cats now.

Coffee Table Cat

This woman made herself some nice coffee and sat down to enjoy it just to see a cat lazily sitting on the table staring at her! Can you imagine her surprise when she saw the cat? We would certainly be slightly taken aback.

Well, the cat surely does look at home and she has made the coffee table her throne too. And it looks like she does not want to be disturbed either. We would also just let her be wherever she is.

New Kitty

The following woman was at home, about a week ago, and heard a meow at her door. Curious, she went to open it, and an orange cat just came inside. She came in like, “Cool, Hooman, I live here now.” The lady already has a dog and two cats!

But, for some reason, this kitty chose this home and wanted to live here. Well, who can say no to that face? Of course, that cat is now a part of the family and lives with all her other pets. What a meet-cute!

Car Cat

This fellow got up in the morning and went to his garage to his car, only to see a tabby cat curled up in the car’s rear window! How did it even get there? No one will ever know. And what do you even do in this situation?

We would have called in sick, just to play with this adorable cat. Clearly, the cat loves it in the cozy car and does not want to leave. If a cat has claimed her throne, then no one can remove her, that’s the rule.

Laundry Room Cat

This guy got a text message from his girlfriend, asking him why did he put a white cat in the laundry room. He had absolutely no idea what she was talking about! Then she sent him this picture, and he fell in love with the cat.

The adorable white cat was peering from under the shelf and had the cutest expression. Needless to say, that cat is now a part of their family. Well, we would have told her she could stay too. How adorable is the kitty!

Friendly Cat

This man came home to see two cats staring at him from the window. The surprising part was that only one of the cats was his own. The right one was not his cat but had somehow managed to get in and behave like one.

It looks like the visiting cat wants to stay here, but the resident cat does not look to be too happy about the new addition. Well, this must have been a tough decision indeed. Best of luck figuring this situation out.

Stroller Cat

It is a fine day outside, and you have decided to take your little one around the block. You see a furry cat sitting at the bottom of the stroller in the middle of the walk! Maybe, he just wanted to hitch a ride around the neighborhood.

An extra workout buddy for you and your baby. It is a truly hilarious situation, though, that the cat decided to join the family for a walk. It is cute and adorable at the same time. Cats are truly creatures of their own.

Tux, The Cat

This cat is named Tux, and he moved nearby with his family last year. He loves coming to the neighbor’s house and just watches them for hours on end through the glass door. This neighbor also has two kitty cats.

Tux probably is friendly and wants to come into the house. He waits outside so that someone can let him in or so that the youngest cat can open the screen door and let him in. It looks like they are high-fiving, and it’s just frigging adorable.

Tigger The Cat

Some cats are just moody, and they make humans their pets. One day, these people left their front door open, and in came Tibber. They called the number on the tag, and it turned out the cat lived just next door.

However, visits from Tibber did not stop. He comes over to their place at least twice a day minimum and even has the occasional sleepover! Clearly, humans are his pets and not the other way around. He does what he pleases. But, how adorable is he.

Neighbor’s Pets

This lady has these uninvited visitors on her deck every evening. Neither the dog nor the cat is her pet, but they both come to visit her every day. That is totally darling, and we would love it if our neighbor’s pets were so friendly.

Just look at these two being totally comfortable on her deck and just chilling out. Clearly, they feel at home here, and they consider her to be part of their extended family. Either way, we are sure she loves the attention from these fur balls.

Baby’s Bassinet

It was a regular day for this woman when she came home and checked her baby’s bassinet only to see a cat staring back at her. Clearly, she has claimed the bassinet as hers! Yikes, good that the baby was not in there at the time.

She should definitely keep her doors and windows closed the next time she is out of her house. Or if she loves this cat, then nothing like it. Maybe she should buy the cat her own bassinet too! How sweet would that be?

Feline Friends

If you see this photo, you will think that both the cats and dogs are pets of the same household. It seems that they have known each other for ages. But, apparently not. The dog and the couch belong to the owner, but no one knows about the cat.

It is extraordinary, though, to see both of them just chilling in their own space and enjoying their nap time on the couch. The cat looks particularly comfy on the sofa too. Talk about strange bedfellows! Maybe they landed up keeping the cat; the dog doesn’t seem to mind.

Acquiring A Cat

Getting a cat to love you can be a mammoth task. But, what if a cat walks in on its own into your apartment and kind of adopts you. I guess you take her in and care for her. She picked her human and not the other way round!

Unlike dogs, cats can be very choosy. When this black feline came to visit this lady, she just fell in love with it and hoped the kitty would stay with her. Well, alas, we will never know if they found their happily ever after.

Kitty In The Bed

If a cat sleeps on your bed, does it mean it belongs to you then? This is what happened to this lady who left her front door open only to find an adorable cat making himself comfortable on her bed.

He seems to be very at home and has even set two pillows for himself for max comfort. The cat sure knows how to live a good life and find beds to sleep on. We would totally wouldn’t mind if he decided to stay.

A New Addition To The Family

Sometimes pet cats make new friends and love to invite them over to the house. This pet cat thought of inviting his new cute kitty friend over and even walked him over to the food bowl. That is incredibly generous and good hosting.

Well, the new cat sure does seem grateful and might never leave now! Just look at him getting all comfortable on the couch. It seems as if he wants to be adopted too; how precious is that. We would totally adopt him.

Steal Your Man Cat

To be chosen by a cat is the highest honor of all. One day, this lady saw a cat wandering in the house, and she just sat by her man and stayed there! Clearly, she had plans to steal him from her.

Apparently, the cat stayed over and never really left! Well, it does look like she belongs there, and she is behaving like she was always a part of this household. Who would say no to that cute face! We couldn’t’.

Dogs and Cat

A dog and cat friendship can be an unlikely thing- but just look at the love in this photo between these two. Don’t they look totally adorable? This family met this orange goofball while walking the dog, and the rest is history.

We guess they fell in love? The way they are sitting in the sun and enjoying is just everything. The cat has made him her pillow, and they are just sunning it out. If only people could learn to get along the way these two have.

Strange Cats

It had been a long day for this lady, and she just wanted to finish her dishes and go to bed. Suddenly, she looked outside the window and saw not one, but three cats staring at her! As if demanding food.

It is as if they are saying, “You got snacks?”. It is so cute! Pretty sure this lady must have put some food out for these cats, or maybe she even adopted them, who knows. However, these 3 amigos look like they are someone’s pets because they are wearing collars. Maybe they should go home for dinner?

Neighbours Cat

Most people long for a pet at some point in their lives. But this lady got lucky. Her neighbor’s cat loves her quite a bit. So much so that she visits her every day at 7 am and does not leave till the late evening.

Every night, she gets a call from her next-door neighbor to get her pet back! We aren’t sure how the neighbor must be feeling about all this. That could cause some rejection issues to surface if our pet prefers to be with the neighbor than with us.

Patio Cat

Sometimes cats just find the best spot for themselves and refuse to move. This was one such cat. Just look how comfortable she is looking on the patio below the bird. It looks like that space was vacant just for her.

She showed up mainly to mate with the two cats who lived in the house. But the girl cats won’t have it and are never “in the mood”. She still broke into the house and ate all the cat food. Eventually, the cat stayed with them forever.

Sneaky Sharon

Ever met one of those sneaky cats who would just refuse to leave? One such cat is Sharon. She would visit this family’s house every day and would never leave of her own free will. When anyone would pick her up, she would pretend to be sleeping!

Cool trick, Sharon. But this is not your house. Actually, this family does not even know if the cat’s name is Sharon. A funny predicament, we would say. The family should perhaps accept Sharon as a part of their house now.

Rabbit’s New Friend

Some cats just make friends with new animals and hijack their home. This rabbit’s home is clearly now not his as the cat has taken over. However, they do look at peace together, and it seems they can live in harmony.

Apparently, for the looks of these two anyways, rabbits and cats get on well and maybe they can co-exist together. However, the bunny does have that “Save Me” expression on his face and looks like he wants his home back. We feel you, bunny.

Scary Cat

Since cats can climb almost everywhere, it is absolutely terrifying when they just pop out of nowhere! This is what happened to this lady who had a vent in her room, and on a bonfire night, this black cat popped out of nowhere.

We cannot even imagine how scary it must be to see a black creature just popping out of nowhere! The poor cat looks pretty scared too. Maybe she wasnt expecting to see a lady with a towel waiting to grab her either.

Farmhouse Cat

Cats somehow sense people who love these feline creatures. This family stays in a farmhouse, and they have plenty of space for cats. People who do not want cats anymore often dump them here before leaving. Clearly, the cats are know they have found a safe new place to stay.

The kitties also know that this lady loves kitty snuggles. Just look at this black cat getting comfortable with her adopted new human. The love is mutual, and everyone can see that. Although we are sad to know why she landed up there, at least this story has a happy ending.

Securikitteh

You know that feeling when that sweet message arrives to say, “Order delivered.” Yup, this lady was also really excited to be home and open all her packages. But, when she got home, she saw a cat guarding the packages.

Maybe, this is a new service where they also give kittens with the packages to provide “securikitteh”. Well, sign us up for that program too cause we would love to come home to find a kitty as well as our new shoes. How darling.

Ginger Cat

The really friendly neighbor’s cat came home to enjoy some TV time with her. The kitty sure looks really comfy on the bed and seems to like this TV program. Who doesn’t like a cute furry companion for a little Netflix binge?

Probably he wanted to catch up on this TV show and just came by to watch this episode. Well, it is charming no matter the reason. His cat legs spread out like that makes for a cute TV watching pose too.

A Cute Kitty

This lady was taking trash out to the dumpster when she heard screams. She searched and spotted this absolutely adorable cat just screaming her lungs out. The kitten was super small and really cute. The home owners decided to name her Miso.

They took her to the vet and it turns out the cat was only four weeks old. They might keep her if she gets along with the other cats. We would also totally want to keep her if we found her lost and alone near our trash too.

Lockdown Cat

During these COVID times, many families have adopted new pets. But this cat just came to this family’s place to spend the lockdown and made it her home. She loves staying there and sleeps in their bed at night. The kitty does look super comfy on that sofa.

Who would say no to a cute cat who has so much love to give. Plus, this cat looks so much at home, and no one would want to drive her away. Staying at home can be lonely, and she must have become a nice companion during these hard times.

Magic Cat

Some cats just love having a routine and visiting other people’s homes as part of their day’s agenda. This beautiful black cat visits this family every morning for breakfast. Just look at those enticing golden eyes! They have named this cute cat “Magic”.

She looks so mysterious and beautiful that no one can really resist her charm. Cats just have this way of making themselves at home at some people’s houses. If they are given food, they love to follow that particular routine.

Image: Facebook/MyHouseNotMyCat/Tracey Lammert

Stray Cat

This young cat started visiting this family’s yard during summer, and her visits became very frequent. She even started to spend nights in the garden. After a while, she gave birth to four kittens under the porch. How cute!

Following which, the cat moved her kittens to the garage and eventually the porch and finally the couch. The way she slowly made her way into their house and life with her kittens is adorable, and it does not look like she will be leaving anytime soon.

Image: Facebook/MyHouseNotMyCat/Casey Nager

Bubba’s Friends

Sometimes your cat makes friends with the other cats in the hood and feels that he should invite them home. But, well, often, they never really leave. Now, this family is stuck with four new cats, which weren’t theirs! This is Bubba’s cat crew.

These stray cats have formed an alliance with Bubba and now patrol the streets as if it’s theirs. Clearly, Bubba is a hospitable kitty who is more than happy to open up his human’s home to his new possie of guard- kitties.

Image: Facebook/MyHouseNotMyCat

Hurri-kitty

This little cat followed this family’s cat one day and has been hanging around the house ever since. However, she did not like being a “pet.” One day, a hurricane hit the locality, and she took shelter in their garage.

Apparently, she was pregnant and birthed a single white kitty during the storm. She left the kitty there, knowing that it will be safe. She vanished for a while and came to check on her young one a few days later.

Bar Cat

Imagine you are going home after a night at the bar. On your way home, you see a cute cat staring at you, so you give him a piece of bacon and forget all about it. You go to sleep, and the next day you are surprised.

Why? Because that same cat is sleeping right next to you! Honestly, you have no idea how it got there. Apparently, he followed you ten blocks to your home and decided to sleep next to you. How can you not keep that cat after that journey!

Image: Facebook/MyhouseNotMyCat/Sheridan Branting

Large Cats

We have covered all kinds of cats over here, except one – the big kinds. This is someone’s parent’s neighbor’s house, and for some reason, all these large cats are deciding to chill over here. We have to wonder if this house is in Africa, maybe? That seems to be the only legit explanation for having a lion lounging in the front yard.

Umm, we would be max terrified to see this scene outside our house. This is enough for anyone wanting to move to another neighborhood or country for that matter. This is definitely not a common house cat!

Image: Facebook/MyHouseNotMyCat/Emily Partington

Supurrvisor

That black kitty looks totally at home, doesn’t she? Surprisingly, she does not live there! It looks like she is supervising the work in the kitchen, but it does not seem like she approves of what’s happening by the looks on her face.

Although, she might just be hungry, and waiting for a taste! Well, that lady in the kitchen should totally give the kitty some food, before she officially loses it. This supurrvisor is purdy helpful too, giving the lady the stink eye. This kitty sure is a needy one.

Image: Facebook/MyHouseNotMyCat/Paula Leech

Lunch Time

Everyone likes sharing their meals with friends, right? Well, so does this kitty named Sam. He adores the cat next door named Robyn and brings him over so that they can eat lunch together. Here Sam is eating while the neighbor awaits his turn.

They do look like a dynamic duo and almost look like brothers! We are sure that even the cat’s owners cannot tell them apart. Maybe if they did DNA tests, these kitty cats might turn out to be cat brothers!

Image: Facebook/MyHouseNotMyCat/Lori Hilderman Barsi

Stubborn Cat

There are some cats who love visiting the house just for lunch. This lady cared for many such cats, but one of them never showed any affection towards the lady. After ten long years, the cat finally sat on her lap.

Needless to say, the lady never felt more honored and now does not want the cat to leave. The cat looks like she owns the lady as if saying, “I own her, do you have an issue?!”. Well, at least both of them had a happy ending.
