Pete Piringer, the chief spokesperson for the department says firefighters along with animal services worked to save the 100-pound dog who got stuck at the bottom of the 25-foot-deep well.
He says the dog, a 10 or 11-year-old Labrador retriever, fell through a small opening of an abandoned well after she had gotten away from the owner.
As they searched for the dog they heard some whimpering in a heavy brush area (off the beaten path) and were able to locate her inside the well and called 911.
The dog was safely removed.
