May 20, 2021
An Arizona State Trooper rescued an injured hawk hopping around State Route 77 in Oro Valley after seeing the bird had difficulty flying.
After coaxing it out of the travel lanes, Trooper Perrin used his raincoat to gently capture it and place it in the back of his patrol vehicle.
Perrin transported the hawk to Tucson Wildlife Center.
"The hawk is doing well and healing from a broken wing," the Tucson Wildlife Center reported on May 17.
"Once he's completely rehabilitated he will be released back into the wild."
