Police officer rescues stuffed animal, returns it to owner
A California Highway Patrol officer in North Sacramento helped a little girl reunite with her stuffed animal after it was lost on the freeway, according to a Facebook post shared by the department. CHP’s North Sacramento office received a message Wednesday on Facebook about a missing plush dog named Toffee. Officers said Toffee had “an unfortunate incident involving a little girl, a moving vehicle on the freeway, and an opened car window.” Turns out, Toffee dove out of the car window and ended up stranded on Interstate 80 near the Antelope Scales. On Thursday, Officer McTaggart responded to the area where Toffee was reportedly last seen. Thankfully, McTaggart was able to quickly find Toffee. After a short recovery (Toffee had lost a leg), he was reunited with his owner.
