NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — 'Mock flights' to help kids with autism and developmental disabilities practice real travel experiences is being held at the Nashville International Airport this weekend.
American Airlines is hosting the event "It's Cool to Fly American" on Saturday.
A news release says this will give families the opportunity to have kids with autism or developmental disabilities experience a "realistic flight journey" to practice certain touchpoints, like the security checkpoint and boarding a plane.
It's being held from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and begins in the ticketing lobby. More than 120 guests registered to attend the event. Registration is now closed.
