Tennessee woman reunited with dog ‘Oreo’ after 8 years apart

A Tennessee woman was reunited with her dog Oreo after the adorable pooch was taken from her 8 years ago, cops said Monday.

An animal control officer and some good Samaritans were able to reunite Oreo with her owner after cops scanned the dog’s microchip and discovered the woman’s identity, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

“She never thought she would see her again,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

“However, because she was a responsible owner and had ‘Oreo’ microchipped when Officer Parrott scanned her all of Ms. Dove’s information was there.”

The owner, identified by police as Ms. Dove, could be seen smiling in photos released by the sheriff’s office as she embraces the pooch she parted with in 2011.

“We are thankful this was a happy ending!” the office added. “It looks like ‘Oreo’ will be living her best life now.”
