Orange County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Tim Nazzaro remembers the day well.He nearly called off sick on a sweltering day in August 2015, but once he heard the dispatch of a stolen car with an 11-month-old boy inside, he knew he had to help."It was 94 degrees out that day, and he had been in the car for a little over 90 minutes," said Nazzaro, who worked in the auto theft unit at the time.He found the car in the nick of time, pulling out Darwin Philistin, who was hot to the touch."He was, like, five minutes away from death, from being dead," said Marc-Andre Philistin, Darwin’s father. "He was dehydrated, everything. And if it wasn’t for that sheriff, today, I don’t know."Nazzaro and now 4-year-old Darwin recently reunited for the first time since that fateful day.Watch the video above to learn more about this story.
