Trooper the puppy now has a forever home. The 3-month-old puppy was struck by a train in Hamilton, Ohio, in early March. His rear legs and tail were severed in the accident.But he has since been nursed back to health by the Animal Friends Humane Society.And now, officials with the rescue said Monday that Trooper has been adopted. "We have chosen what we feel is the best family for Trooper. They have much experience with disabled animals and someone will be home with him at all times to give him the care he needs. He will be leaving his foster family and moving in with his new, forever family in the coming days," officials with the shelter wrote on their Facebook page."Trooper's story has inspired the Cincinnati area. His story was shared across social media, and many reached out the the shelter to see what they could do to help. Trooper was fitted for his first-ever doggie wheelchair last week -- a donation from Paw it Forward 4D Foundation."We had a lot of naysayers in the beginning telling us to euthanize him, so we hope that sharing Trooper's story has changed the opinions of some," the shelter wrote.
