Firefighters discovered a dog on the third floor of an apartment complex days after a fire

.

The pooch, named Rebel, was found on Saturday afternoon during a public service call, the Harrisonburg Fire Department said in a post on its Facebook page.

The fire, which displaced 40 people from the apartment building in the Hills at Southview on Thursday, was caused by "improper disposal of smoking material," fire officials said.
